Abstract
Crisis management involves very quick evaluation of data coming from multiple sources, with varying degrees of timelines and reliability. Some of the data available provide information about the development of the crisis; other incoming messages request action or information. The informational problems include associated with crisis management require a variety of display formats for clear and quick comprehension by the management team. We examine some of these, focusing in particular on VIBE, a graphic display that shows the relationships of data items to several key factors simultaneously.
