Abstract

This paper describes results of a comparative analysis between Social Sciences Citation Index (SCCI) and a locally created Polish Sociology Citation Index. It concludes that, while SSCI is a valuable tool in assessing the presence and impact of Polish sociology in an international context, a deeper view of the discipline and its development may be obtained through the analysis of a locally oriented index.
