Abstract

This article consists of reflections on the sources and compositional process of Borges's short essay "Destino escandinavo" (1953), about the "secret" discovery of the novel in medieval Iceland and the "secret" discovery of the New World. The manuscript in question is housed at the Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas-Austin.
