Role of Liaison Librarian in Bibliometrics as Outreach to Academic Departments.
In: North American SciVal User Group Meeting, 19 Apr 2018, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA.
(Unpublished)
Abstract
The work of liaison librarians is changing, but there are valuable opportunities emerging as researchers are asked to show the impact of their work through tools like Scopus, SciVal, and ORCID. Bibliometrics is a way in which academic librarians can continue to offer outreach that is both useful and engaged. Learning, and relearning, is essential though. Luckily, there are freely available tools like blogs and vendor webinars to help librarians stay current and engaged at the click of the mouse.
