Abstract

This submission contains data and codebooks from several personality studies conducted 1990-2017, organized by assessment instrument. For demographic information about the study participants, please refer to Background Information Questionnaire (BIQ) - Personality Studies (http://d-scholarship.pitt.edu/id/eprint/35424).

Studies:

1. Screening for Personality Disorders ("Screening")
2. Interpersonal Functioning in Borderline Personality ("Interpersonal Functioning")

Description:
(From Morse & Pilkonis, 2007): The Iowa Personality Disorder Screen was developed as a brief screening interview (Langbehn et al., 1999). Its 11 DSM criteria were selected following analyses of a large sample of 1,203 interviews conducted at six research sites. Different subsets of 4 to 7 items were selected to distinguish patients with PDs from those without PDs and to attempt to distinguish patients with Cluster B PDs from those with other PDs.

Data Notes:
(From Morse & Pilkonis, 2007): For this study, the 11 criteria from the screening interview were translated into 19 self-report items (with Yes/No response choices), from which each criterion could be scored.

Reliability: (From Germans, et al 2010): Internal consistency was moderate (0.64), and the test-retest reliability was good (0.87).
