Abstract

Roughness and waviness metrics collected with stylus profilometry are commonly used in the characterization of flooring topography due to previously reported correlations between these metrics and friction performance. Yet, their predictive ability across heterogeneous flooring products has yet to be characterized. In this data set, we report four topography parameters and the oily coefficient of friction across four shoe products for 23 floors.
