Abstract

This study aims to explore three projects focused on cost savings initiatives through optimizing operations and increasing revenue in women's health services. The first project focuses on Space Analysis of Suite 5600 at Magee-Womens Hospital, aiming to reorganize the underutilized space for maximum efficiency. The second project targets Operating Room (OR) Time Between Surgeries, employing Lean Six Sigma methodologies to reduce turnover time and enhance operational effectiveness. The third project involves developing a Social Factors Care Plan to address social determinants of health (SDOH) impacting birthing plans, aiming to improve coordination of care and patient satisfaction. Each project utilizes specific methods, such as data analytics, DMAIC method, and PECs, to achieve its objectives. Results indicate improvements in space utilization, reduced turnover time, and enhanced patient experience. Recommendations include continuous monitoring, education, and workflow improvements. Competency development focuses on data analytics, Lean Six Sigma, and patient satisfaction. These initiatives promise to generate cost savings and revenue while improving overall healthcare quality in women's health services.
