Abstract
For over a decade, multilingual information access techniques have been developed in order to process the multilingual information in digital libraries. However, it is far from clear what the digital library users' multilingual information needs are. Through a survey on digital library users, this paper explores these users' multilingual information needs in the areas including their behaviors, motivations, frequently accessed information resources, required multilingual information services, effective multilingual information retrieval, and ideal interactive system interface, etc.
