Abstract
This workshop presentation traces the role of the University Library System (ULS), University of Pittsburgh as a publisher of scholarly content over the past decade, culminating in a program to publish over 20 refereed scholarly e-journals. The ULS grew its e-journal publishing operations over a few short years using the Open Journal Systems (OJS) software, with very modest staffing by leveraging a series of carefully designed tools to streamline implementation and encourage journal editorial staff to become self-sufficient in their use of publishing technologies. Future challenges are discussed, including sustainability and assurance of academic integrity.
