Abstract

Background: This essay examined spatial variation of measles vaccination rates in a ten-country East African area and constructed a spatial model of demographic variables that account for vaccination decisions. Methods: Data were collected from Demographic and Health Surveys (DHS) over a five-year period (2007-2011) and processed in SPSS 21.0 to select from key variables (measles vaccination rates, geographic data, and select demographic variables). Spatial analysis was performed in ArcGis 10.1 and GeoDa 1.4.3. Spatial regression was performed in GeoDa 1.4.3.
