For demographic information about the study participants, please refer to Background Information Questionnaire (BIQ) - Personality Studies (http://d-scholarship.pitt.edu/id/eprint/35424). Studies: 1. Interpersonal Functioning and Emotion in Borderline Personality ("Couples") Description: The 27-item DSQ provides two alcohol use subscales, Drink/Drunkenness and Alcohol-Related Problems. The drinking/drunkenness scale includes quantity of consumption, frequency of consumption, proportion of time drinking leads to drunkenness, maximum quantity consumed, and physical effects. The alcohol-related problems scale includes a series of dichotomous questions assessing hangovers, nausea or vomiting, blackouts during drinking episodes, or trouble with parents or friends because of drinking alcohol, fights while drinking alcohol, and legal problems due to alcohol use. Data Notes: DSQ- Alcohol problems were scored from items 15a to 15j. Reliability: (Smith, 1995): Internal consistencies ranged from .92 to .94 for the Drink/Drunkenness scale and from .66 to .80 for the alcohol-related problems scale. Citations: Share
