Abstract
ABSTRACT: The aim of this work is to analyze the neonationalist discourse in Puerto Rico. It shows the hegemonic politics of USA towards Puerto Rico. It argues how an anticolonial discourse has been replaced by an identity politics. The result is a tiredness nationalism which serves as a legitimating frame of subaltern relationships. KEY WORDS: Colonial power, identity politics, subaltern subject, hegemony, legitimacy.
