Does this database fit true to size? Teaching database selection by having students rate and review resources.
In: ACRL 2017, 22 March 2017 - 25 March 2017, Baltimore, MD.
Abstract
Undergraduate students were taught to evaluate databases and other resources by reviewing them as if they were a product purchased online. Instead of relying on librarian or vendor created descriptions, students worked in groups to use a resource and review it for things such as ability to filter and sort results, types of information available, and provide helpful hints for other students. The students’ reviews were then added as resource descriptions on the course LibGuide.
