Abstract
This article focuses on a notebook of the brand "33 Orientales" that Borges used in 1940, in Uruguay, when he wrote the first draft of the famous story "Tlön, Uqbar, Orbis Tertius" and the poem "La noche cíclica" (The Cyclical Night). It elucidates Borges's writing process and shows the importance of some of his philosophical reading in the composition of the two texts, as well as arguing for a relation between them.
