Sumsheet (Axis I&II Diagnoses, GAF, PD/Global Severity) - Personality StudiesPilkonis, Paul (2018) Sumsheet (Axis I&II Diagnoses, GAF, PD/Global Severity) - Personality Studies. [Dataset] (Unpublished)
AbstractThis submission contains data and codebooks from several personality studies conducted 1990-2017, organized by assessment instrument. For demographic information about the study participants, please refer to Background Information Questionnaire (BIQ) - Personality Studies (http://d-scholarship.pitt.edu/id/eprint/35424). Studies: 1. Validity in the Diagnosis of Personality Disorders ("Validity") Description: Summary of all diagnoses and consensus decisions made by team. Includes Axis I and II diagnoses (both liberal and conservative), Global Assessment of Functioning (GAF) scores, Hamilton scores, and a distribution of 100 points across the various axis II diagnoses to create a more complete picture of the participant’s personality traits (Axis II / Personality Disorder (PD) severity). It is also noted whether or not the team was unanimous in their diagnoses. The Global Assessment of Functioning (GAF) was done by consensus to rate subjectively the social, occupational, and psychological functioning of an individual, e.g., how well one is meeting various problems-in-living. Scores range from 100 (extremely high functioning) to 1 (severely impaired). The GAF scale is presented and described in the DSM-IV-TR on page 34. (Morse & Pilkonis, 2007): Severity of Axis II pathology was done by consensus on a 100-point scale (an analog to the Global Assessment Scale, Endicott, Spitzer, Fleiss, & Cohen, 1976) developed for our studies. On this measure, a score of 61 was the threshold for a clinical diagnosis of any PD, and the range of 61–80 was anchored with the following descriptor: “Significant to marked personality pathology associated with chronic impairment and definite personality disorder.” Data Notes: The Couples’ Study used a revised summary format, with separate forms for Axis I, Axis II, GAF, and PD Severity, and did not include the points distribution across personality diagnoses. The file for Interpersonal Functioning Sumsheet was replaced 4/24/2019 with a more complete file. Citations: Morse, J.Q. & Pilkonis, P.A. (2007). Screening for personality disorders.
