Abstract
These four datasets (.xlsx format) include variables used in a morphometric analysis of 3D facial shape in 2,446 adult humans and published in the Journal of Anatomy. For this analysis, 3D facial surfaces (represented as dense point clouds) were partitioned into 63 segments or “modules” using a data-driven approach, followed by principal components analysis (PCA) of the models to describe the major modes of shape variation. Supplementary Data File 1 contains a dummy ID, covariates (age, sex, BMI) and centroid sizes for each facial module in a single excel file. The first sheet contains the data. The second sheet contains a dictionary describing each variable. Supplementary Data Files 2-4 contain the principal component scores for the 63 facial modules. Each module is on a separate sheet. Rows correspond to individuals and columns correspond to principal components. The first column includes the dummy ID.
