Abstract
Giving a Boost (GAB) is a student group at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine that provides free medical school application advice. Over the 2020-22 application cycles, GAB matched more than 100 applicants with 60 volunteer medical student mentors at Pitt Medicine. The GAB model has led our cohort to have a higher acceptance rate (90.9%, p<0.001) than the national average (41.2%) as well as reduced inequity in the application process for those who cannot afford application consulting services. Moreover, medical students who participate in GAB gain valuable medical education experience by developing leadership and mentorship skills.
